Stories of the end of civilized life have always fascinated us, from the mythological world endings, Armageddon to Ragnorok, to the flood stories of across the Ancient world. They make us wonder what we would do if all around us came to an end: no transport, no fuel, no communications: a retreat into the desperation, the onslaught of disease, how would we survive? This is the source of zombie literature and provides the inspiration for this fabulous mix of horror and adventure, of classic and brand new writing in the successful series of Gothic Fantasy titles from Flame Tree. Features my story Bleed the Weak.

New England has a rich, dark history with the supernatural. From this region many writers of dark fiction have fueled their stories. One chapter in history has been the stuff of legends and nightmares: the Witch. Look to ancient mythology or your next door neighbor and you will find them, practicing arts both Dark and Light. The New England Horror Writers proudly present a new anthology which pays tribute to those whose ancestors were accused, hung, pressed, drowned, or burned at the stake. Enter these pages, wander the hard roads of Colonial America or modern corporate boardrooms, to face the Witch.

I’m going to start a little experiment here, fueled by my
pinterest addiction love of photography. I’ll post a photo and a quote or poetry snippet. Poets out there are welcome to brainstorm a line if something catches your fancy. I do want to be respectful of copyrights so I will not post anything that has a watermark/credit.
Here’s the first one – starting out with something a bit dark
Something pale and hungry lumbers forth in the darkness
Also of note – have just stumbled over horrortree, a horror market listing. Seems like a good resource, so I’m passing it on.
